Just came back from seeing Eric Schroeder play in a rather satisfying game of basketball. His intramural team was down for most of the game until in the final 2 minutes they made a spectacular comeback and won the game!

In other news my van got rammed by some (insert vile curse word here) who thought that it’d be a good idea to then flee the scene. At the time I was in the midst of fellowshipping with 519 Ministries. Ah, well, I guess that’s the price you pay for worshipping God.

Also, I am a bit miffed that since I’ve never seen Monty Python’s Search for the Holy Grail and I rented it and had my heart set on watching it tonight but my loser friends wouldn’t accede to my wishes. Oh well, they’re suckfaces anyway. Had a wonderful time in VCT class listening to Larry Bowman tell tales of Hollywood, sounds like a friendly town. Anyway, gotta go update the new blog. Catch you all on the flip side of the inverse quadrilateral.

I’ve been busily updating my new blog all week long and I think I have a rather pedestrian story thread beginning to weave itself. But don’t worry, I’ll be mixing things up a little bit for Hollas Dillan soon, just you wait and see. Actually, I’ll have to wait and see too, since I don’t really know what kinds of things I can do to him, there are just so many possibilities, ahh, what fun! Off to go eat food now.

I just began up a new blog, yes, that’s correct, Joel “the guy who can’t update his own first blog has started a stinking second one now”. But, hey, I had an idea, I thought it would be a cool one to pursue, and thus I am doing so by starting up this new blog at Adventuring In The Land Of Faerie.

Anyhow, feel free to check it out and give me some feedback now. Lemme know about it. Tell me if it sucks or not. Tell me anything except that you love me. Thanks guys.

Well I’ve had a rough day already. Slept in through the same class I slept in through last Tuesday, and this time I had no excuse. So I hurried my sorry little bum over to class only to find that they got out a whole hour early. As if that wasn’t enough, the teacher had given Heidi explicit intstructions to punish me with throat swabs and needles. That didn’t sound too funky to me, so I settled for being her slave for a bit instead.

Hooey, well I have VCT 204 today coming up and I still haven’t seen whether or not I’m going to get any sort of job at the College of Technology. I’d really like to go for such things but sometimes I don’t feel the drive to go and ask for it. right now I feel helplessly chained to this computer. Haha, well that doesn’t make any stinking sense now does it?

Well I’m off to check my email, catch you all later.

Just got back from an amazingly humbling night of StarCraft with Lee and Jason. We played over the house network and had a great deal of fun, that is, until after 2 minutes of gameplay, Jason was routed by a horde of Zerglings and forced to relocate. The rest of the game involved us steadily running out of money while our defences were being whittled away by relentless masses of troops seemingly conjured from thin air by our opposition: the computer. After a humiliating defeat at the hands (or tendrils?) of a mightly unstoppable cloud of Zerg abominations we vowed to exact out revenge. The second game went much better, and we managed to amass a sizeable army of formidable strength and diversity. Unfortunately, the computer had, again, conjured an endless fleet of million-dollar Protoss Cruisers and Scouts and what-have-you-ever-else that can be used to decimate a small planet. So, we were destroyed once again, this time by a cloud of Protoss ships. Our games did occasionally have quiet moments, during which we could hear idle banter with a cultured British accent come floating through the walls from the all-girl screening of Pride and Prejudice going on in the other room.

I’ve edited the 519 video down greatly and it is starting to come together and look really cool. It has some slow moments, though, I’ll have to work on those. Oh yeah, I am doing a video for 519 ministries, you’ll have to come see it next Sunday the 16th of February, when 519 is doing the worship and Chris Stuffleben is giving the message. Hopefully this film will provide meaningful insights into the culture of 519, its virtues and values, and its ongoing place with Covenant.

Hehe, see you all later my suckfaceable treatminsters.

Wow. I’m an interstellar example of good blogging. What can I say, I am adept at letting my online digital life languish in the freezing temperatures of this bleak, grey winterscape in NW Ohio. Ha you might say I am especially adept at being inept. Whoa, enough odd words for today. Well let me see, what of note has happend to me over the past immesurable span of time that has transpired since my last meaningful post? To kick things off, I got a LAPTOP! yay! The University in its omnipotent graces saw fit to bestow upon me the privilege of using a 3rd rate laptop for a semester. God IS GOOD! Its nice enough to store 1000 pirated songs on, edit movies, surf the network and type up all manner of drivel and doggerel. The only problem with the godawful thing is that it’s configured to index itself every night and it does this over a period of perhaps 42 hours of mind-numbing slowness and not working sluggishness. That is what is happening to me now and is irking me most at the present instant. People of the same ilk as those technicians who programmed and formatted this thing take great pleasure in seeing the less tech-savvy masses writhe in helpless agony as their handiwork manifests its ugly head. I, however, am a geek with Macs and can reprogram it to send digitized pictures of donkey butts to their email boxes. But I’m a Christian, so, I won’t do that. Other than that, having a laptop is SWEET MAN!

Well I know it’s been a bit overdue, but it’s time for part one of Joel’s Year in Review!

First off I’d like to start by saying that I’m going to commence this writing by beginning to tell you of my intention of revealing to you the bands I got into in 2002 that I liked the most! Here they are:

1. The Notwist

2. The Anniversary

3. Death Cab For Cutie

4. Pedro the Lion

I would put The Fire Theft at number one of course, but they have only released two songs as of today and so I have to save them for this year, which I’m sure they will top along with other bands such as Sigur Ros, The Decemberists and whatever else is slung my way.

Next I’d like to take a break and update this later.

Ok now I’m back and I’m going to fill your ears with ringalinging. This magic moment, while your lips are close to mine, will last forever….! Like that? I really want to watch the Sandlot right now… which brings me to my next list… my favorite movies from the theaters in 2002! Here they are:

Check out the cryptic and scary lyrics to this song:

THE NIGHT TRAIN TO LUXOR

VERSE 1

There is a path that leads too far

There is a lower dining car

From my window seat I see

The black desert blowing free

Far from home and dead to life

Longing only to spend away time

Sheltered here amongst the jewels

At home among a cadre of fools

BRIDGE

Whistling winds

Howl over the sands

Miles away

From any foreign lands

CHORUS

This train goes on and on

The night it never ceases

This train goes where it will

And does all that it pleases

VERSE 2

Ill I rise from my soft chair

To catch a breath of air

The lights pale fogged and cool

Flanked side by side with rules

I make for the cabin door

The air has gone so sour

With every passing breath

My life becomes a mess

BRIDGE

Faint lights go darting by

This train is on the fly

And in the dead of night

Is anxious in its flight

CHORUS

This train goes on and on

The dunes keep rolling over again

The palm trees fly past so fast

I am so lost again

This hardened heart has left a love so far behind

This weary eye has been all but rendered blind

These worn out shoes have seen far better days

My mind is reeling still and life is still a maze

Growing pains reside in my stomach

Lungs rasping for the pungent odor

Smokes furls inward to fill the holes

Eyes weeping tears of silver and gold

CHORUS

This train goes on and on

I cannot see the end in sight

I must climb down

Fling myself into the unyielding night

My doom so far is clear

Doomed to consume my fear

As though a food to me

The thoughts they sicken my very being

This train goes on and on

Until the breaking dawn

Whence far from home upon

The wasteland it does yawn

This train empties its soul

It burns and burns so whole

No one escapes the flames

No passenger of this night train

The night train to Luxor

Well for a while it’s been 10 days of radio silence on the front of my blog. Now I am prepared to break the silence with one word: Challenge!

Wheeeeeeee! OK, you all know that I’m being perfectly serious. I’m not going to bother all of you with meaningless stories of my dull, boring life. OK, so I am, and to kick it off I’ll be letting you know all about the happenings within my small world.

Oh yeah, the Buckeyes are national champions… I saw the end from the 4th quarter on of that magnificent game. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Anyhow, I have to get offline and make phone calls. I don’t have two phone lines you know.

Woahriyowh!
